A burger containing an entire pack of bacon is being launched in the UK, much to the delight of rasher-lovers everywhere.
The “Bacon King” has been available on the Burger King menu in the US since 2016.
However, the original iteration of the burger contained a mere six slices of bacon, while the latest version being released in the UK contains a whopping eight slices.
“The Bacon King sandwich makes meat-lovers’ dreams a reality,” Alex Macedo, president of Burger King North America said at the time of the burger’s US release.
“We know our guest are going to put this burger into heavy rotation.”
The Bacon King is going to be available for British customers to purchase across the country from March 14 for a limited time.
While the idea of a burger containing a whole pack of bacon may make you salivate, the nutritional information may make you think twice about giving this sandwich a try.
The Bacon King contains a whopping 1,150 calories, with 31 grams of saturated fat and 49 grams of carbohydrates.
According to the NHS, a man should consume approximately 2,500 calories a day, while the figure for a woman is slightly lower at 2,000 calories.
With this in mind, the idea of consuming more the majority of your daily calorie intake in one sitting is truly astounding, not to mention a hazard for your health.
The Bacon King will be priced at £5.89 on its own and will cost £7.69 when bought as part of a meal.
It contains two beef patties, four slices of melted American cheese, ketchup, mayonnaise and to top it all off, eight slices of bacon.
For anyone who prefers poultry, the Premium Chicken Bacon King will also be making its way onto the menu.
